    High Precision Strain Gauge

Strain gauges (often also referred to as strain gauges) are the key asset for measuring fatigue and testing materials for better and safer products. Whether it is in structural durability testing, structural health monitoring, or the production of OEM transducers, HBM's optical and electrical strain gauges are the first choice.

Rudrra is one of the leading strain gauge manufacturers in India, our wide range of strain gauges comprises an extensive assortment for widely differing strain measurement applications. Due to the combination of excellent services with a comprehensive range of accessories and years of experience, Rudrra is the perfect partner for your strain measurement project.

    High Precision Strain Guage

We are offering clients high precision strain gauges in various configurations to suit different industrial applications. It provides an ideal solution for physical force measurements in mechanical, medical science, aircraft, and marine as well as in civil engineering also.

    Products specification

    • BAB Series Mid-Temp.Strain gauges up to 250℃: Karma foil gauges, glass-fibred-reinforced polyamide backing, with excellent heat-resistance, good ability on insulation, and higher applicable temperature, especially suitable for stress analysis and transducers.
    • BE Series Residual Stress gauges: gauges for residual stress can measure the uneven plastic deformation, which is caused by the effect of external force or temperature.
    • TJ Series Waterproof Foil Strain gauges: Adopting special adhesive with features of waterproof and mildew resistance, and the gauges employ the fully encapsulated form. Waterproof gauges are specially designed for stress measurement in the static pressure field underwater within 5Mpa. They can successfully be used in the test of hermetic of the airplane cockpit, the stress analysis for the internal wall of pressure container, and the strength test and crustal stress test of dam and highway.
    • TA Series High-elongation Strain Gauges: Adopting special grid and backing materials and are most commonly used for high-elongation or post-yield stress analysis of many materials and structures.

    Operating Principle of Strain Guage:

Changes in the electrical resistance of a conductor can be caused by different physical phenomena. Temperature, strain, and photo illumination are known factors that affect electrical resistance. Force transducers such as load cells use strain gauges to take advantage of the relationship between mechanical strain and the electrical resistance of a conductor.

The electrical resistance of a wire is directly proportional to its length and inversely proportional to its cross-sectional area. When stretching a strain gauge, the length of its wire increases while the cross-section decreases. Thus, the electrical resistance of the wire is increased. Conversely, compressing the strain gauge without buckling its wires causes the electrical resistance to decrease.

As mentioned in the previous chapter, the strain gauge is an application of the Wheatstone bridge circuit. A Wheatstone bridge circuit is composed of four resistors and an electrical energy source. Among the four resistors, one is variable while the rest are fixed. This variable resistor is the strain gauge. Regarding the energy source, a direct current (DC) supply is fed across the bridge circuit. This is called the excitation source.
